OUR PROCESS

  • The discovery process begins with an introductory meeting with our executive team to establish project goals. Budget alignment is then evaluated through a feasibility study or high-level estimate before proceeding to a formal agreement.

  • The pre-construction phase encompasses all planning activities leading up to the start of construction. Our pre-construction team supports clients and design professionals by providing constructability insights, cost estimates, and coordination support. By working collaboratively, we establish the foundation for a smooth and efficient construction process. Our goal is to be
    engaged as early as possible.

  • The construction phase is dedicated to execution, with a structured approach to schedule management, budget oversight, quality assurance, and coordination with trusted trade partners, all supported by clear and consistent communication.

  • The post construction phase ensures the project is complete and fully supported, offering commissioning, a structured warranty program, and ongoing maintenance and repair services throughout the life of the home.

FAQs

How much does it cost
to build a custom home?

Project costs vary based on site conditions, architectural design, and performance goals. Because each project is fully custom and site-specific, final costs are best determined once the design process is underway.

How long does it take
 to build a custom home?

Project timelines typically range from 18 to 30 months, depending on site conditions, project size, and design complexity.

What fee structure does
 Certified Build use?

We operate on a cost-plus basis, giving clients full visibility into every invoice and receipt. This approach keeps us aligned as advocates for their resources while ensuring fair compensation for skilled trades.

Should a builder or an
architect be hired first?

Meetings with both the builder and architect are equally essential, and we encourage collaboration from the outset. Our approach is most effective when we are engaged early—either before architect selection or during schematic design—so that design and budget can be refined together.
